How would you like to win a BRAND NEW LAPTOP just in time for Christmas?
Oct 11, 2008
Rendall’s Certified Cleaning Services president, Scott Rendall, was recently invited as a guest speaker for a business-building roundtable in Houston featuring legendary speaker Zig Ziglar and several other noted speakers.
“It was such a thrill to meet the great Mr. Ziglar”, says Rendall’s Certified Cleaning Services president Scott Rendall. “I only hope that I have half of his energy and enthusiasm when I’m 81″, quipped Rendall.
Rendall’s speech was on business branding and the negative effects of small business blending in with their competitors. The roundtable was filled with approximately 300 small business owners and leaders.

With the recent record rainfall we’ve had here in Livingston County over the past week, hundreds of homeowners lost power. Some that didn’t lose power still had problems with their basement sump pumps not being able to keep up.
One such instance happened in Howell where we received a call on Friday from a nice gentleman in Howell whose basement sump pump couldn’t keep up with the heavy rainfall. Subsequently his basement flooded.
He took action, just like every responsible homeowner would; he called his insurance company. His insurance company told him that the loss was “probably covered”, but the adjuster had to know for sure that the water came from the sump pump and not the weep tiles or from under and around the foundation.
The homeowner did a Google search and found our listing. He loved our website and called us. We made arrangements to inspect his situation. Upon arrival we used our Forward Looking InfraRed (FLIR) camera to distinguish areas of probable moisture and backed up our findings with a moisture meter. Just as we suspected the water did originate from the sump pump area and backflowed through the basement from the sump crock.
As you can imagine with our record rainfall as of late, every adjuster in town is swamped (!) with claims. We at Rendall’s took a proactive approach and immediately called the adjuster to advise him of our findings. The adjuster was out when we called, so we left a message. Although the homeowner did have a claim number, he was skeptical that it wouldn’t be covered until he heard back from the adjuster.
We took the minimum steps necessary (removed carpet, pad, and set up drying equipment) to mitigate the loss. Every homeowner policy states that the policy holder MUST stop further loss from occurring or the insurance company may legally deny the claim. Our client did the right thing by agreeing to have the carpet/pad removed as it was certainly starting to smell (the loss occurred 4-5 days prior to him knowing).
When we didn’t hear anything from the adjuster the following Monday, Scott Rendall (President of Rendall’s Certified Cleaning Services) took action and personally called the insurance company himself to assist the insured. He battled through 5 screens of voicemail and opportunities to leave a message but insisted on speaking with the next available claims agent. Finally a nice claims agent answered and Scott advised the claims agent of the situation. Although the claims agent was hesitant to call the insured, Rendall persisted and the claims agent relented by calling the insured to let him know that it was, indeed, a covered loss.
We at Rendall’s Certified Cleaning Services are Insured Consumer Advocates. We know the struggles that the insured goes through to get a claim started. We are also well aware of the bad reputation of insurance contractors and seek to overcome our clients’ fears one loss at a time. We work with all insurance companies to ensure the loss goes as smoothly as possible. At no time will we allow an insurance company to railroad one of our customers.
For the most part insurance companies aren’t the bad guy. Oftentimes lack of communication is where the problems start. With our exclusive Rendall’s Certified Cleaning Services Communication Guarantee - miscommunication is a worry of the past. We act as the direct liaison between the insurance company and the insured to never allow confusion or customer from having to pay more out of pocket than their deductible. (covered claims)
We hope you never experience a fire, flood, or mold loss; but if you do, turn to the leaders in Restoration services in Livingston County, MI: Rendall’s Certified Cleaning Services

Every few months we load up a couple of cleaning trucks and head over to the Livingston Area Council Against Spouse Abuse (LACASA)
to provide free carpet and tile/grout cleaning. We at Rendall’s love the community service that the great folks at Lacasa provide and look forward to cleaning them again in a few months!

I’m real excited about this challenge.
Virtually every day we get to see and clean unusual textiles and surfaces, but historical items are my fav. Next week we’re going to inspect the Howell Opera House and see if we can put together a cleaning plan.

I haven’t seen it yet but from what I’m told it has probably never been professionally cleaned before.
Here are some interesting facts about the Howell Opera House:
* Construction started in 1880
* Original cost: $11,000
* Officially opened on Dec 30, 1881
* 1,000 person seating capacity
* In 1924 the Fire Marshall ordered the 2nd and 3rd levels sealed for safety reasons. It has remained sealed from 1924 until 2000
* It is Howell’s 1st public building
* Originally named “Eagle Tavern”
* Gill-Roy’s Hardware store was a long-term tenant of the 1st level
* In the year 2000, the Livingston Arts Council purchased the building with the goal of completely refurbishing it
HubTV’s Executive Producer Brent Earl will be on-hand to show us around. GULP! We’ll have to be on our best behavior!
